Today was my first day as a college instructor. For anyone who may stumble upon this blog who doesn’t know me, I taught high school Spanish for the last two years. I loved it. However, coming to the college level as a graduate assistant and teaching undergrad classes was an intimidating step.
I guess if you’re a teacher, new venues may always be intimidating; at least that’s true for me. But once you get going, all the fears just kind of fall off and you do what you always do; Teach. The kids were good, and the class was good. Overall it was a pretty fun couple of house (2 classes). I teach again on Wednesday so hopefully it goes well again. Cross your fingers for me.

This has been a busy summer for us at home. I’m teaching two classes for summer school which keeps me busy during the day till 3:00. It almost feels like being a normal teacher that doesn’t coach two sports and teach night school. I get to come home at 3:30 instead of 7:00 at night. Weird!
Kevin had swim lessons with mommy. There are some fun pictures on Catherine’s blog that show Kevin jumping off the diving board. He’s my little dare devil. Now he asks every day to go swimming so we’ve used his little blow up pool a few times in the back yard.
This weekend is the beginning of the Wardle family vacation as well. Saunya, my big sister, is coming in town with her family. She hasn’t seen our house in over two years, and that was a 6 hour rest stop for them on their way to Oregon. Then we’re heading to a cabin with my entire side of the family (all 36 of us) from my parents down. We’re going to spend an entire week there just playing around. It should be lots of fun.
Finally we’re still trying to sell our home here in Idaho (anyone interested?) so we can move to Oklahoma. One way or another we’re going, but it would be nice to get this one sold and move in directly to a house out there instead of having to rent. With the housing market like it is, not too many people are looking but two came through in the last few days so hopefully someone will put an offer on it soon.
Oklahoma is going to be interesting. When are we moving? I don’t know! Where are we moving? I don’t know. I do know classes begin August 18th, so I’d better figure all this out, and soon. Catherine and I are still really excited to go to Oklahoma and do my degree. It’s all the detail stuff we’re not sure about. Wish us luck!
